Tracking devices

Animal tracking devices are costly but extremely important to the work we do. Radio and GPS devices enable us to monitor our releases more closely, building on our understanding of how animals adapt to life in the wild post-release. This information not only allows us to improve our release techniques but also to share these valuable learnings with centres doing similar work.

Wildlife monitoring via trap cameras

An important part of our work is aiding scientific research by monitoring wildlife activity within our 250-acre reserve. Over the years we have seen wildlife activity within our borders increase significantly and we only know this through the use of trap cameras. By gathering information on species variety, density and movements, we are able to offer support for conservation efforts of endangered species.

Tools and equipment

Because Merazonia relies on solar energy and the limited use of a generator for power, battery-powered electric tools are extremely useful in helping us maintain the centre. We are always in need of additional power tool batteries and chargers as well as the tools themselves as their heavy usage means the more, the better!
